Hi guys, is the free supercharging enabled automatically for PCS throws the error

Or does Tesla need to acknowledge that there is an error and then they give you free supercharging somehow?

create a service request and they do remote diagnostics to confirm your failure and they fill out some paperwork on the computer and the higher up’s approve and push you the update. You can see if you have it by looking in the app under specs and warranty at the bottom, it’s either pay-as-you-go or Free with an expired date.

pretty certain it's automagic, at least it was for me, started seeing no charge visits while a Turo guest had the truck....I scheduled the SC visit a few days later

Wow, 1/2 hour to install? I read they have to take your bed apart to repair it. I am concerned that the fix will be good for two more years and then I am out of warranty. I heard the G revision has had to be replaced sometimes as well.
That's the adjusted labor charge, Tesla knocked down price for out of warranty replacement.
Book says 4.2 hours.

Mine says free super charging expires July 23. Wonder if that's how long they expect before it will be fixed.

I forget where to look to see how long the free supercharging is set. Remind me?

I think it's true that 80% of Cybertrucks have the older, vulnerable PCS module. It's not known how many of those will actually fail. Some might last forever? It's still unclear why they fail.
It’s interesting, every time I see a CT driver, I ask if they had a PCS failure. Have not met one that incurred this anomaly. One of my neighbors (June 24 AWD) drove his until 60k miles at which time he sold it. Well,I keep my fingers crossed.

Has Tesla modified the PCS to make it more reliable in new trucks? For example are we on a PCS version 2 or something?
No Idea... I sure hope so... This PCS issue is not cool for us...

I still want to know why we are all having this issue all around the same time though... Bad software update?

Intentional?

I don't even super charge, mainly charge at home 99% of the time, I don't use power share or anything so super weird to just have it come out of no where all around the same time as everyone else... Something fishy going on...

The failing PCS hardware isn't used for Supercharging, but does handle all AC charging. So 99% of your charging utilizes the problematic circuitry.

Yea I understand, it’s just strange that it sudden appeared for many of us within the last few months. Super weird that many of us have this issue all around the same time… suspicious if you ask me..

I went in for my lightbar recall, front camera throwing cal errors and the stuck at 24A charging. During check in, I was verbally told by Service Advisor free supercharging was added to my account. However, it is not showing up that way in my app details. I just sent a msg to the service to see what the deal is. Lightbar brackets are nice, very organic looking.

For the free charging, service centers fill out a document on the pc and send it up the chain, big wig has to push the approve button. You will not get an alert when it’s activated, wait a week checking the specs and warranty spot for the change.
