That said, I finally got a chance to watch the Ellie in Space (or whomever) video, on my monitor and that unit is a fit-and-finish mess all over. strong assumption it's merely a prototype level of issue. The lid is just misaligned and whompy on this unit. In the Elle video, the *this* passenger side of the frunk near the window isn’t popped up like on the driver side
All that misalignment *should* just be a matter of normal course alignment adjustments
With some manufacturers, those alignment adjustments are even left to the dealerships responsibility of setup before delivery
i also don't think that unit is running 3mm SS at its quarterpanels, or possibly anywhere other than the doors. watching the video, you can notice a distinct difference in the coloration of the doors vs the remaining body panels - with the doors having more of a bronze hue (see first two photos below for an indicative compare)
I also noticed a moment when a door was lightly flung shut, and while it's best viewed in the video, at impact the entire door flexed inboard before rebounding back out to where it's supposed to sit. First photo below is the best capture i could get of the door at the inward flexed position, with the second photo below showing how the seam appears after rebounding
But in all, reemphasizing that these are likely only indicative of the prototype and not the intended fit-and-finish of a production unit, some photos i wont spend more time pointing out uneven gaps or other floppy giblets - not to mention panels that do not appear to be 3mm
