Really, the point is that its likely a small percentage of the CT buyers will actually be legally allowed to remove the side mirror (or drive their trucks in a public body of water). So regardless of Musks claims, its important that the side mirrors look good and have features that people actually need. Currently, I am not a fan of the triangles. They may grow on me. I think the CT is going to be so popular that the aftermarket market for it is going to explode. So maybe some cool stainless mirrors will come along. I still like 95% of the truck.

This journey with the CT has been interesting for all of us and its been fun. I look forward to being on this forum with you all when we all have our CTs and the conversations change from fantasy to facts.
Some of us are more concerned with what is safe than what is legal.

It is also entirely possible at some point in the future the government will pull their heads out of their ass and revise the legislation.

In either case, it would be nice to be able to pull them off without having a giant scar in the side of the truck.

Not every day. I am guessing that @Crissa lives in an area similar to me. I have salt air every day and pollen from cypress trees every night.
Yep. Not a single season I'm not dusting off the car! Between the Redwoods, the Tan Oaks, and the Douglas Firs, that's winter-spring-summer getting bursts of pollen. And in the fall, everything drops their needles and leaves and salt sap in the wind. In fact, I often leave the Mazda 3 wrapped up in the fall and winter if there's gonna be wind or it just got washed.

I squeegee it off every rain, but that's only going to go so far. I need the wiper to run almost every time I get into the car.

A washed truck is a red flag someone is destroying evidence.
Can't see through salt rime. And I don't particularly want to feed the lichen. So it's gotta get washed.

Thats what I have been saying. It would seem foolish to put that storage there. not only do you need to clear the bed to access it, but its like putting a box in a box. If its easy for me to close the bed and lets say I have a bag of tie downs or some small supplies I picked up at the hardware store, why not just put them in the bed and close it. It's already going to be too hard to lean over the tailgate and when the tailgate is down it will be a lot to lean over to get to. I am still 95% sure after seeing the prototype castings and the most recent CT images that those sail pillars will have storage in them.
Am I the only one who uses all the various nooks and crannies in my car?

I use the under trunk area on my Model Y for storing the extra rail for my bike rack, tow ball, blankets, the mobile charging unit, and some emergency water. I don’t need any of that often, but when I do it’s super nice to have handy. I’d expect a similar assortment to be in the under vault area on the truck.

It’s not storage for when I run out of other storage, it’s just stuff that I like to have with me but want out of the way.

I definitely think the sale pillar storage is more interesting. Being able to get at stuff without getting into the vault would be super nice.

I keep most of my kiteboarding gear (everything but the kites and the board) in the understorage. It’s great and leaves more room for my dog!

I dont see a reasonable way to hook a winch up to the front which IMO is a massive disappointment
This made me go look to see how the winch was hooked up. The only person I know with a non-prototype one though is Ginger Billy. So I had to go check his rig.

Unfortunately his TESLER SIBER TRUCK didn't have a winch. I guess we will just have to wait and see once someone else gets one and tries adding a winch.

And of course, since we are going down memory lane, here is Ginger Billy's original take on the Cybertruck:

headlights and DRL are reversed
Read earlier in the thread, Crissa explained things a bit. We think it’s changed since the original due to regulations.

The light bar will house the headlights and Tesla has never said otherwise. Those green-highlighted lights are running lights, like every damned car ever made.

I hope Tesla offers a dual motor version that uses the Semi Truck System that mechanically engaged a high power motor when needed but uses a range and efficiency optimized motor for normal driving.
I think the Semi Truck Drive System is genius and I would love to have a system based on it in my Cybertruck.
Gives the best of both worlds, high efficiency and range for normal use, and a monster power boost when required.
I know I am a dreamer, but aren’t we all?

Most Tesla's actually do this. If they have more than one motor.

Like an earlier poster said - this truck is UGLY!
In fact, it's so ugly every one here should cancel their order in protest!

[Hoping all of you buy this so I'll move up in the line...]
