2025 will be an interesting year as Tesla has pulled a few demand levels already (FSD xfer, lease, lower lease, Can. sales, etc) for the CT and before many people expected. The 2 million "pre-orders" is a running joke out there now outside of our bubbles.

From a minute ago when I went to Tesla-COM

Order Dec 14, available in Dec still.

And Tesla just raised the MSRP of the the Model S by $5k. It’s now $79,990.
They threw in free Supercharging (with many caveats, and said they could remove it at any time - no transfers, even pvt sale, as tied to acct). It feels like they are trying a lot of physiological selling tactics.

You can now find used Foundation for ‘as low as’ 83k with minimal miles… as well as the readily available units direct from factory..

just 12 months ago we thought we would be waiting a few years for this day…

More evidence today that demand is crashing. The people that could afford an $80k plus truck is bought one (pent up demand), and the remaining pool is limited.

I am holding for under $65k, but not holding my breath. The CT is a small portion of the Tesla plan, like the model S. My prediction is the CT will never see 150000 units per year and Tesla would be fine with that. They will keep the price highish so that it is still a coveted vehicle.

I really only needed them to make one. I’m so glad they did.

As recently as August, Tesla was accepting reservations for the $61K RWD Cybertruck. Then that option disappeared. If Tesla won’t take your money for a RWD reservation, then they have most likely given up on it.

On the other hand, used low-mileage Foundation CTs are now selling for 15+% below the original price. This suggests that when used non-Foundation CTs become widely available, they could maybe be priced around $68K. So just hold on for a year.

Crissa. All do respect and I mean alllll dooo respect , Whaaaaat trucks are you comparing it to ??!! Please explain ...
There is a limited number of people buying $80k vehicles. Making them safer or faster doesn't change that fact. If someone can afford an expensive truck, they'll buy an expensive truck.

The average truck is only $65k, with the median below that. That means most can not afford the Cybertruck, and the features the Cybertruck has are basically meaningless in that regard.

And I've been on holiday. I spent yesterday hiking in Castle Crags park, as well as driving to Oregon. Long day!
