Yeah, looks are subjective, but they are just looks. It's a superficial quality of a vehicle designed to perform a job. If someone wants to ruin the functionility of their truck for such superficial reasons, they are free to do so. It's a free country.

I'm not trying to make more friends, especially not people who think it's a good idea to ruin a trucks functionality because they think they will look cool in a slammed truck. Too many friends dilute the friendships I value most. In other words, there is a limit to how many meaningful friendships one can realistically maintain.

If someone's feelings are hurt because I (or anyone else) told them it was stupid to ruin a trucks functionality for looks, that's on them. I don't believe in giving everyone a medal for participating, but it seems that's what many expect these days.

Being ugly is a superficial quality and it's often not a choice. I don't give a crap what someone looks like, it's what's inside that matters. And that's the real point here.

I was in Ventura today, and they are preparing for a truck show with semis at the Ventura fairgrounds this weekend. I would pay good money to watch HaulingAss go around to these good old boys, and tell them how stupid it was to have trucks that lowered like that.?

I’d just like to point out, they probably DON’t create sparks as this is their height while parked. I would bet that when they are started and are getting ready to drive, the driver increases the ride height, or it increases itself. Lots of Modders slam a car or motorcycle to the ground when parked.

Lots of comments about how dumb people are, but not many smart comments on why a lowered car is better for aerodynamics and increasing range.

If done right you can also improve traction by increasing downforce, and a lowered center of gravity will also help reduce body roll for braking and cornering.

Most sports and racing cars are lowered for these reasons.

Accordingly the form follows function even for a lowered vehicle, regardless of the opinions of "how dumb it looks".

Maybe a mirror would help with that one?

The main items that will likely be sub-optimal from a lowered CT are:

1) driveshaft CV joint angles don't like electric motor torque (and is why Plaid does Cheetah stance on launch not to blow out the CVs all the time)

2) suspension geometry near bump stops could stuff up wheel alignment and tracking. Thus could probably be compensated for with shop adjustments.

3) shock absorber damping is less effective at end of stroke positions.

4) ride height on a long wheel base vehicle can lead to ramp over angle clearance issues. (It's a much longer wheelbase than a M3) Obviously, bump height is an issue depending on the terrain and road you are traversing.

Being able to drop the suspension to the stops whilst stationary would be good for camp mode, so the vehicle doesn't rock about. I also hope they have a self levelling mode as well as a "jack mode" that helps change a tyre, by lifting one tyre when the suspension is up and propped with a jack.
