If you are towing an RV, you need 450 minimum. IMO

Good thing being 2-3 years away, I may get the 500+ as advertised.

I can't imagine buying a Cybertruck with less than 300 miles of range, unless it's specifically used as a local work-truck that doesn't take road trips/adventures (which is still a valid use-case). I'm holding out for 500+ miles because I plan to keep this truck for a long time, and plan to take it far distances.
300-350, 500 would be awesome.. but it comes down to cost and availability... my original order was for the dual motor because of cost. With that out the window, not really sure. I've saved $50k so far for my CT. A bit disappointing that only 10 are sold at the end of the month, 100 Would have been more impressive. Hope they release cost, range and options at the end of the month.

The Model Y Long Range has 320 miles. After degradation and only charging to 80% I still don't drive enough to need anything faster than a standard wall outlet. Road trips are fine. If they get more chargers in remote areas for camping and adventures I'd be good with the same range. I don't tow and the family requires a stop every 1.5-2 hours anyways.

I want at least 400 miles range as when I travel long distances, I typically drive faster than the speed limit which effects range, plus all the gear I would be taking with me. I want that range buffer. One destination I drive to is in the middle of almond groves, so no superchargers close to the destination.

But the CT architecture is quite different than the S3XY line up. For me the question is; We've seen Porsche and others work with the high voltage system, what can Tesla do? And this being their first HV vehicle (The Semi notwithstanding), where will the efficiency start, and where will it be in 2, 3, or 5 years?

350 miles is the absolute bare minimum, and even that is questionable. 300 is not enough, and i will pay through the nose for every extra mile i can get.

I blame the fact that my M3 is on it's third HV battery in under 70k miles, on my tiny 50KW SR pack

I'm not sure what efficiency gains will be realized from just doubling the high voltage in order to halve the current, other than what the reduced weight will bring with smaller wire sizes, from the battery pack to and possibly within the drive units. I wasn't expecting much difference, but maybe some noticeable gains are possible?

But you bring up an interesting point, as the Cybertruck drive units also will be different than what we're used to seeing in the S ≡ X Y lineup, so I'm curious now how they'll look, and how efficient they'll be. Wonder if they will be similar to what is in the Semi.

This is a BIG concern I have. I do like Jack's answer/caveats. The only addition I will add is these need to be "real world" miles not the typical "optimized scenario" miles we see.
in addition, we need to know what the usage rate is....my 2020 Model S has 30k miles and averages 248 Whr/mile...that is gonna take a whole lot of charging time, especially if people are towing......I have heard that will increase on the CT to between 450 and 525.......that is a no go for me...plus we still do not have the pricing and options and standard accessories......the release is really beginning to look like one big cluster intercourse up......nothing but speculation......I will probably not get the Ct...Cant trust Tesla anymore in what they say, plus service is going to be a big issue with having issues and being told, "oh, thats normal or I can duplicate" owners complaints.....if thats the case, where do you go for help.....nope, I am not going to go through that crap.....

The porche is not known for it's efficiency..

a 1000 volt system enables tesla to get more power from the motors without them overheating, it improves efficiency marginally. Think 1-3%.

This is a pretty cool video, the guy being interviewed has a channel with all kinds of motor science/experiments on it :)
