You're one of the most reasonable people on this forum. I think your spot-on... I think the entry level will be in the $80,000 range and I think the quad motor top of the line will be well over 130. There's no way a top of the line cybertruck is less than an entry level model x
I originally reserved a Tri-Motor. Which rumor has it will be side stepped initially and instead we will be offered a Quad. A Quad at $130K would not be of interest to me. I would have been happy to buy a Tri at $80,000.

Good news though. Despite being up on the reservation list, I don't think I have to make a decision until the end of 2024 or so. If production does start in 2023, I suspect it will be later in the year and in small #s initially. 2024 hopefully we will see the Cybertruck produced in #s of 150,000+ units or so.

I'm with you, an $80,000 tri motor sounded amazing with the specs that they talked about. But as time has gone on, and on, and on... I've been trying to tell people that those original pricing numbers are nowhere near what we're going to end up seeing. Elon's decision to make a quad motor and produce it first was as predictable as rain in Seattle 🙂 it was his way to increase the price and break people out of their reservations that would have to have the first or best version offered. Considering that Hummers are going for $180,000 in the aftermarket, I don't think Tesla fears having enough demand for $130,000 or $140,000 top the line cyber truck. I think they'll milk that price point and model for as long as demand persists before offering anything cheaper.

People dreaming of an entry level $60,000 cyber truck or a quad motor for $100,000 are frankly out of touch.

If Tesla decides to make a Plaid and sell it for $130,000 or 1 million, that would be a separate special CT and I don't think relevant to be compared with or aligned with other price points.

As far as current orders are concerned :
We have experienced 2 years in which demand grew and inflation raised its head.

1. Teslas originally increased in price because of long wait times. Not inflation.
2. Following that, wait times still continued to grow. Along came inflation, which further catapulted prices.
It would have been a real red flag for Tesla to have so many orders encroaching into an unknown future.

3. Elon actually said price increases were to cover themselves. The last lot of increases, Elon didn't say they were increased because of current costs.. He said it was to cover for future potential cost increases.

If things get back to a more even keel, I don't expect runaway prices and current mindset to continue.

In fact, not impossible, if inflation gets under control, future orders could have the inflationary allowance removed from their order.

This isn’t speculation or educated guesses. It plain and simple fear driven nonsense.

You are letting your baser instincts run your emotions and acting like you can derive some truth from that.

Elon May act like they don’t care about that EV credit but you better believe that will greatly effect the production decisions.

Tesla really likes to make one part fit many vehicles. Seeing how long it’s taking Idra to bdeliver the press, it seems like there may only be 1 9000 ton press for a while and switching molds seems very tedious. I think there will be 1 mold for both the dual and quad castings and they can drop the two or 4 motors in it. There will be no single or tri motor variant. I think the standard battery pack will be the single layer 300 mile pack and adding the additional layer of battery pack to get to 500 mile range will just reduce the ground clearance slightly.

i believe it’s been confirmed that they will make the more complicated and expensive versions first so maybe it’s the quad 500 mi. Which will be $100k. Then I think they will offer the dual 500 mi range for 79,900 and the dual 300 mi range for $65k.

Just my option here, I’ll be passing on the CT dual motor at an increase . The only reason I reserved my CT was because of the price.49k dual motor at the time which sucked so many of us in ! I’m-researching other electric trucks.. I’m intrigued by the Alpha Super Wolf . They are taking no deposit reservations .

There's no evidence that Tesla uses different castings on the MY for different motor trims. Two motors, one motor, no motor, it's all the same casting. Of course, the CT will have 2 castings (front+rear) so they will need to swap molds (but in batches, not for each truck lol).

I'm skeptical that Tesla will ever, ever deliver a Cybertruck with two HV packs. The 500-mile CT was likely based on the increased capacity of the 4680, and it's not there yet, so I believe the extended-range CT (ECT?) is on a future roadmap.

I think people will pay $150k-180k for a quad CT and think Elon should price it there since he surely f'ed up by offering $39k, $49k, and $69k models at release.

With inflation in coming year or so, I could see him getting $180k-200k for a loaded up model.

🤣🤣🤣That is how stupid this shit is getting on here🤣🤣🤣
