New wheels / aero wheel covers spotted on Cybertruck -- 7/31/23

How are you calling these ugly? Have you seen the rest of the truck lol. I actually kind of dig them, the whole truck is like ugly soup, the more ugly they throw in the better it gets.

Basic design. Not a single curve on the truck. Then you throw a circular metal plate over the angular rims. Yeah that's not a match to the design style of the whole vehicle. To each their own. I felt the original aero covers fit the trucks style better, but I also prefer the naked angular rims to either aero covers. Im all for the ugly angular style, but keep it consistent. Don't start mish-mashing various visual styles cause then it goes from cool ugly, to pathetic ugly.

These discs look like someone was just experimenting to see if it would have any increased range effects over the original aero covers.

wonder if these aren't production aeros, but instead makeshift for hiding something about a new wheelset (maybe the new wheelset seen on the RC in texas before Q2 call)

edit to add: the video shows these covers are unevenly attached (wobble when wheels turning)

im leaning heavy towards makeshift cover of a wheelset. unclear though why they wouldnt just use the normal aeros - unless the normal aeros arent set up to attach to the new wheelset yet

Maybe they wobble on purpose, just to freak us out

Yes, hub caps that may actually be aerodynamic. The original ones don’t look aero whatsoever. Hopefully this is an option.

looks homemade to me. like "lets see if we get some efficiency if we slap flat cover on wheel"

.. now after closer inspection it looks like solid wheel... so I guess wahtever, if it is efficiency and goes as standard, I'll go with it. its not like CT is work of art, it's all about utility, efficiency and production scalability, so adding another flat surface will not change overall look.
