Moderately reliable because of a rattle in the steering console but it did have to go in so….

This is a great discussion. I did not react to the opinions that stated this was skewed (or just “dumb” 🤣) as many people (~175) have voted! I created the poll with Groq’s help and specifically asked to make it a “non-biased poll on reliability”. If you look at the polling results thus far, 95.5% of this community states that their Cybertruck has been reliable! And only 5% state it is unreliable!

That is NOT what I thought looking at the threads and discussions over the past 70 + days of being in this community. This is an incredible statement!

Now I’m wondering if the 5% of folks with reliability issues, or in the early production runs (through Q1 2024), and if Tesla worked out the bugs/manufacturing issues in later year deliveries.

15K miles since delivery in May of 24. Very reliable and I am fortunate to live not far from a pretty good service center for those couple issues. I would buy it again tomorrow.

Dumb poll.

The answers go from "Perfect reliability, no issues whatsoever" to "Mostly Reliable, Minor cosmetic issues" not requiring service visits.

So is this a reliability poll or asking how perfect everything was cosmetically? If you really want to know about reliability, the questions would be graduations of how often it couldn't be driven.

It makes any intelligent observer wonder whether you know what you're doing or are simply trying to confuse newbies with regard to how reliable the Cybertruck has actually been.
Exactly

Installed latest update and right after i did I got reduced power message. Already had an appointment for trim adjustment so service added the power issue. Last known is they are waiting for parts. inverter?
I think the timing was just coincidence.

I don’t know. I swear Tesla is learning with the entirely new system and Ethernet loop on the Cybertruck.

My example, back in Feb I installed a the update released back then. Literally, hours after the install (and me not driving the truck at all), my frunk switch started to malfunction. My frunk would randomly open on its own if the truck was unlocked. Thank god when it auto opened (multiple times, until I tried locking it) the frunk didn’t hit my garage door and cause damage. It was about an inch away from hitting the door hinge. The fix was to replace my frunk switch. All good since then.

I met another owner who had his switch die after the update too.

FS AWD, Aug 24, vin 29***, 9400 miles.

Only one SC visit, for the Cantrail recall. During that visit also the wheel alignment was checked and fixed. Not too happy with the Cantrail alignment, worse then before, but not enough to have me go back just for that to the SC.

No issues that made the truck undrivable, unusable. Had once a warning pop up about a ride height issue, vehicle speed reduced, but I could still drive 65 on the way home, and it was gone after I parked at home and drove it a little later again.

So I voted completely reliable.

The only issue I've had is that sentry mode keeps switching itself on when I don't ask it to. (this could just be my ignorance, I switch it off in the menu and it seems to just come back on by itself)
The Sentry Mode switch in the app isn’t sticky. The Sentry setting in the car will stick. At least that’s been my experience with it.

I’m curious about everyone’s experience with Cybertruck reliability. Please vote and share your mileage to help us understand how these trucks are holding up!
32,599 miles on my AWD and it’s been phenomenal. Ski trips, desert trips, towing our camper, mtb trips, tons of deep winter snow driving, and some big road trips to east coast, CA, all around the Rocky Mtn west. Only issues have been vibrating driver mirror and both frunk and trunk buttons died, replaced. Zero major issues. Stainless is fine. Love the truck.

I have several issues with an otherwise perfect ride.

1. Music will randomly skip to other genres or next tracks without interaction from me whatsoever.
2. Window or glovebox intermittently opens.
3. Random scuff marks appear on passenger interior speaker grill.
3. The new car smell suddenly offsets with a more perfumed or flowery scent emanating from the passenger side which leaves greasy residue and or smudges on the door panels arm rests and seats.
4. A slight murmured or rumbling sound also comes from the passenger seat area.
5. Miscellaneous items slip or rattle back and forth in the yacht floor area while making sharp turns.
6. Randomly not always, but entering drive through window orders double or price increases on its own.
7. Music volume randomly increases.
8. Passenger side window is intermittently difficult to see out of and have to adjust, tilt position, in order to remove blind spot area.
9. Map navigation suddenly becomes unfamiliar or unreliable, especially near shopping center areas or large parking lots.
10. Sun visor on passenger side randomly drops at main intersections and I have to flip it back up to see oncoming traffic.

All the above suddenly disappears when the wife is not present in the vehicle.

11. I paid extra for a Cyberbeast logo on the tailgate area that is barely noticeable without using a magnifying glass or commanding the sun to brighten only in the lower right section to reveal its awesomeness.
12. A loud vibration noise is heard emanating from the air compressor under the rear bed area nearest the back seats behind the driver side, when auto leveling at red lights and sometimes while driving & won’t stop until an alert appears that says “air compressor is unusable or shut down due to overheating”. (I’ve seen online or in these forums that this has been remedied by a service visit and compressor mounting bracket swapped or dampened to not allow it to hit mainframe or chassis). Many times it will rattle loudly for what seems like forever, then suddenly burst a loud puff of air and stop pumping as it met its level of compression.
I’m thinking it’s a bad regulator and or metal bracket causing the loud vibration that can be heard over moderate music levels and road noise. On my next service visit I plan to have this remedied.

Other than that, it’s been a perfect ride.

I think even many of us that did mark something other than "Completely or Moderately reliable" still would do it all over again and are happy overall with the cybertruck. I stated in my reply I plan on a ~5k mile trip as I think many of the early issues have already been dealt with.
I agree its a good poll.

I was forced to select ‘moderately reliable’ by the simple fact that I have had to take the truck in for service, but that is completing. My truck has never failed to work so it has been completely reliable - best car I have owned by far in that regard (and most others). Most of my visits have been for things ‘I’ did to the car, for warranty fixes, or tire rotation, and only one issue with wind noise that they fixed quickly. The only remaining issue is that damned wiper blade.

I’d say it is bias on the part of the pollster.

Thankfully, the one time that my 24CT bricked on me was after we returned home from a 1800 mile road trip. (Of course, covered by warranty.)
We went to move the CT into the garage and that’s when it bricked and had to be towed to the SC.
