The winding noise of the drive units isn't the sound we are referring to. I actually like that sound just like you. We are discussing a different sound which is super duper annoying and sounds like some kind of leaky valve or bearing noise. Very hard to pinpoint
Same; I like the gear whine and interter noise. This is different. It's more obvious in person, but it sounds like a bad bearing noise to me.

Tried mounting a GoPro in different areas of the truck to try and isolate the noise. When I mounted a GoPro by the wheel wells pointed at the inboard side of the half shaft, didn't clearly hear a transition of the noise. However, when mounted in the frunk, it was clearly audible. This leads me to believe the issue is near the top or front of the DU.

Makes me wish I had a pico scope to narrow down the sounds further.

Not to be a party pooper but I had mine replaced with the exact same part number in november. It did not fix the sound for me.

If the G version works I'm going to go ask them to change it out again. Does anyone know if the G version is the cure? F sure wasn't

I’m assuming at this point they know that something is wrong and are working on a solution. What have past Tesla owners experience been with these types of issues?

I put my late 24 foundation vin in and it’s showing 3 FDU… 1920000-T1-N,
1930000-TX-F and
1930000-TX-G all listed available for $3500. F with the green dot(original with my vin)
Not sure why or if the T1(I believe it’s a tri motor part number) is better than G. Anyone have any info and why it’s showing for my AWD?

I posted in another thread, but I'll post here too. I had this exact same issue since day 1 (AWD - 53,XXX VIN - 11/24 inventory) when I drove it home. My closest service center wouldn't help. I was persistent as I got to the point I wanted to sell it despite loving every other thing about it, so took it to the next closest service center. They agreed it wasn't right. Replaced the hubs, didn't help. Replaced the FDU (revision G if that matters) and now it's soooooooo quiet. Just like my other Tesla's and I couldn't be happier. I guess just need to find a SC that cares.

Hammy60, has the noise retuned at all on yours? Others have stated the noise came back after 1,000 miles or that the front drive unit part ending with F did not resolve their issue.

I’m taking mine in for service in a couple weeks and was going to reference your post. Maybe FDU part # 1930000-TX-G is the winner here?

Did you get the G motor installed? Any update?
They pushed my pickup date a couple times. Last time they pushed it, they added a “super bottle” to the service ticket. I’m guessing they mean the bottle for the super manifold; couldn’t find “super bottle” in the EPC. So far, it’s ‘waiting for parts.’
