Is it just me or does it look like they didn’t air down those tires? They looked pretty stiff and tall. - very different outcome climbing with aired down tires. - maybe a limitation with electric given weight and torque?

People need to understand that every throttle input or steering input is 100% intentional. These guys aren’t out there for fun. They’re testing. Trying to find where it’s failing so they can make it better. If he wanted to, he could have just locked the diff(s) (theoretically, of course if it has them) and most likely crawled right up.

Difficult with an electric car to measure the acceleration, it comes so quickly compared to a gasoline that the traction is difficult to measure. It would be necessary to include a software option to manage this aspect to better balance everything ;) ?
Crawl mode (similar to 4L on a classical transfer case 4WD)!
Rivan has: "Off-Road Rock Crawl" mode
Stating at 1:42 in this video on most of their modes (I think another was added later. Sand?)

This climb is 1 year old and I think they added modes since then. Not sure any were initially available.

Sure. And let's not forget they could have locked the hubs.

As one of the few people here who actually appear to be in the know, so to speak, does that mean you are saying there are lockable diffs on the Cybertruck? That indeed would be news…

The video pretty much looks exactly like going up something like this without lockable diffs. I have so far strongly assumed Tesla will not add locks.

I’ve driven up that obstacle at HH, though it was almost 30 years ago. In my “triple locked” 80 Series Land Cruiser which had no modern electronic traction tech but in low range had a fully locked center diff and selectable rear or rear+front locking differentials. Still considered one of the best showroom stock 4wd setups ever sold on the US. Trust me, it’s a lot tougher than it looks. It’s steep, usually covered with loose sand/gravel, and the “bumps” are variably spaced to challenge articulation on vehicles with different wheelbases and track widths. I think the CT did fine, and as someone noted, the test drivers were probably evaluating different aspects of traction control settings, ride height, power modes, maybe even tire air pressure. I’m not going to second guess them.

Big difference when you keep you momentum going. The CT driver was either a noob or intentionally stopped at base of hill and several other times on the climb.
I was wondering the same thing, why he will stop when there was more than fine lines to keep going

I think @IJNYamato gave some incite. It may be they intentionally put the CT in those situations to get data needed for tuning the software.
