I visited my CT in the lot before they had a chance to clean it up. There are some "smudge/scraps" I think will come out when they detail it. Unfortunately, there is a dimple/nip on the back passenger fender. I am uploading both a cropped picture of it and the full picture of it so you can download it and zoom in. If you really zoom in you will see that the whole area looks stressed even above the nip. If I reject it, I have no idea when I would get a new one. I saw someone indicate it was 6 weeks. Also, will a new one have worse issues. I also have a truck I am selling to Carvana which is due to be turned in this coming Tuesday. We have several cars in our family, so I could survive a couple of months without a truck. Let me know what you think.

Also, Does anyone know what this means written on the CT. All of the other trucks in the lot only had WC, not the term "No ASN" or " Z7" both crossed out.

I had a dent on the hood of my CT at delivery. I'm not sure I would have even seen it if the delivery guy didn't point it out. He said they would replace the hood when they received the new part and set up a service appointment at the time of delivery. Tell them you want it fixed and when they agree, take delivery. I expect they will agree to replace or fix later.

In the first 2 years mages I thought “don’t accept this” but in the last one I thought it was minuscule, not to mention non-functional. It looked like you took a magnifying glass around the car.

  • Are there still edges that are manually grinded? It looks like someone slipped here. I don't hink a robot would 'slip'. If it was robot programmed then > 1 would have this (and >1 reported here?)
  • Would that be considered 'within spec'?
  • It looks like it is thinner here (yellow arrow)?
  • A person mentioned a hood was replaced ... which would seem easier than a quarter panel but I don't know if we know how they are attached yet.

The decision is yours, of course. However, it works out I'm sure you will enjoy the CT overall if it fits your use cases.

I actually saw it from 4 feet or more away. All the other lines are sharp, but here is a "nip" just at the end of the whole truck. I admit if you were not walking around it with plenty of time, it would probabaly be missed. I also thought I am putting $110k into this truck and this is a slight disappointment. Overall, it is just amazing in real life.

Bummer as a new owner to have to accept something that sinks your heart.

If you are not happy ask them to fix, if they say its within spec, reject and ask if you can have the next truck when available.

If unfortunately it's not resolved to your satisfaction, the dimple is like a pimple on a nose, you cannot unsee it.. just imagine it's extra smoothing and you are lucky.

By the time you add 15 other similar dents, you will forget which was the original. lol

Edit : Or down the track spend $600 for a new panel, curse Tesla, and all fixed.

That’s a tough one. Is it generally noticeable or just if you’re a forum member and know to check every square inch for nicks, swirls and gaps? Do you plan on getting it wrapped? I found that most people generally don’t see imperfections on these trucks the way we do. They see a space ship lol. Mine had a little misalignment that I noticed then got over real quick and no one else had mentioned. When I get it wrapped it’ll be even less noticeable. Be careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Unacceptable. They need to replace the quarter panel or give you another truck asap.

I’m here to let you know that is it ok to keep it. I’d still be damn happy for you if you drove it off the lot and enjoyed it.
