It's literally a table of CT and competition though lol

No surprise. As i said before the CT didnt have efficiency as its main design target. If you have seen the engineering that goes into a rivian its incredible- not revolutionary like Tesla, but still amazing. The fact that they are only losing $30+K per truck is impressive.

The Cybertruck's numbers look great, especially for weighing 6800 lbs and having motors that will accelerate it faster than a Model 3 Performance.

The energy inefficient numbers of the GM Hummer don't surprise me either, considering it has about 2600 lbs more weight than the Cybertruck.

not really, no

in volume, to the equivalent of the tailgate height rectangular box, the Lightning is bigger

Tesla’s bed volume figure includes some calculation including the sails under the tonneau, and comes out with a bit more volume than the lightning

but throw a camper shell on a Lightning it it’s jumps way in front of the CT again

Tesla’s stutter about the 6’ bed is true (at the floor), but misleading in the sense of describing both the volume and utility of the CT bed. It has materially less volume than a traditional full sized bed design that’s 6’ long, and materially less cargo room.

and again, if we’re gonna count enclosed space with the tonneau covered, we should arguably be comparing a traditional bed with a camper shell

What happens if they both have camper shells? Also, are you considering the prison pocket?

So, what I am reading in this table is that Rivian is most efficient, then CT, then Chev, etc. BUT, Rivian is significantly smaller, CT is bigger and Chev is bigger still. What is missing in this table is the battery size and range. Chev currently has the most range, as tested by C&D & R&T and others, at 450 miles. So, it must have a bigger battery than others. Supposedly, Tesla is going to bring out something called a "Range Extender". Rumor is it is a software thing. Cost unknown. Really? You are going to sell me a short range CT, but , if I give you more money you will allow me to use all the battery I paid for? But it will still be less than the 500 you promised me that would not require a "Range Extender"? Chev has a mid-gate. Not CT. Only 11,000 lbs. towing? What happened to the other ton and a half that was promised? CT is a Road Queen, not a real truck.

I don’t think GM will ever sell 450 mile range truck.

GM figured out the double stack battery for the hummer. I am sure they will use the same platform with the Silverado. Tesla should have and my bet would be they will go that route in the future. Tesla sometimes fights what the world wants and often compromises. A 40+ kw battery in the bed of the truck is not it.
