I'm 99% ready to order ProtectaClear kit and probably Everbrite as soon as I see a bit more feedback from 'normal' users. I also just ran across this Undrdog Cybertruck Coating but unable to find any independent information and they seem to be a bit misinformed about Cybertruck corrosion.

Any updates from people that have used ProtectaClear? How's it after a month or so?

I am a normal user. I applied Everbrite Protectaclear to my Cybertruck today. My elbows and shoulders ae sore because I had to redo three areas, and I still don't love it. I struggled to find a balance between too much and too little coating. I ended up erring on the side of too little, which has left some rainbowing, so I might do another coat after I've recovered. I wanted this to be the solution to the fingerprinting because I REALLY don't want a wrap.

Background: I'm a fit 45-year-old with good eyes and plenty of experience with painting and other detailed DIY work. I did this in a clean garage after reading instructions multiple times and watching several different videos.

I had similar results except all of my rainbow streaking is horizontal. I too erred on going too light and am really happy with it. No drips or runs, etc. I too will probably apply a second coat to go a bit thicker on those thin patches, but I am not in any hurry to. The longer I take between coats, the more value I get out of the kit. I figure I got some protection on there, and i have ZERO fingerprint issues as I made sure to be generous around the door edges.

At 8k in miles. I have found that higher pressure water has been my best friend. Often, and warm. Occasional ONR instead of a bar keepers friend type of product. I don't really want to unless I have to, introduce an abrasive into the equation.

Everyone is different. I plan on not worrying as much as I have on other Tesla's in the past. Just clean should do it for a Cybertruck.

I like your thinking. It's a truck, not a Rolls Royce. I have a 4000PSI pressure washer and was wondering about that. I would NEVER use that kind of pressure on a paint job, but I was wondering how it would work on CT. I can always lower the pressure be swapping nozzles.

Yeah I don't use that high psi. I just know the owners of the two sprayers I go to, and only use the water. They use clean water, and let me test it. One is an ass, and looks at me crazy. The other one is interesting and cool. Feels like the rest of the world.

Maybe @ehuna. Or @Axwbw can chime in since they have had it some of the longest time?
We've had it for a few months and It's holding up very well!

We take it to the carwash once a week, fingerprints are still no longer an issue, and it's a lot easier to clean one specific spot.

Rain owing is common when too thin but another thin coat right over the first will fix it right up. Be sure to get the blue microfiber applicator saturated with coating a do a quick pass making sure to keep the pad flat on the surface. No need to press hard or go slow, just a quick pass on any rainbow spots.

I don’t have my CT yet but I want to go
on record that I really am impressed with how straightforward you’ve been since day 1 on this forum. It’s never a hard sell, just honest advice and great direction.

Thank you! Our goal is to help preserve these beasts, and make the owners happy. It’s a new niche for all of us and there is a learning curve for sure but we are here to help in any way we can.

I may be reopening this topic but I just wanted to share my experience.
I have had my truck for 3 months, initially I would only hand wash my truck with dishwasher soap , rinse and dry and had no issues.
however one day I got into a touchless carwaah

Unsure why part of my post got deleted after I inserted the pictures. So I was writing that I’ve had my truck for 3 months . I only washed it with dishwasher soap and then dry it, never had an issue keeping it clean. One day I got into a touch less car wash thinking it would be an easier way to keep my truck clean. Well the detergents dried up before I could completely dry the truck and my truck got pretty bad water spots stains. I tried everything to remove them , isopropyl alcohol, spray way glass cleaner , white vinegar, etc , none of them work. So I decided to go with the barkeepers friend liquid +original windex . I know I had read a lot of posts where they say it is not a good idea but I had no other alternative. As you can see in the pictures it works , it removes all stains , I went through a lot of microfiber towels and I had no issues with matching the finish between the panels. After this I will continue only washing my truck with dishwasher as I was doing it before . Just wanted to share my experience.
