Do you know off the top of your head if any Delorean owners have tried Protectaclear (link)Your experience with Windex aligns with our experience. As we learned, the best product for quick maintenance is no product. Anyone who is trying to sell a product won’t tell you that.
Regarding abrasive products and the DeLorean, it is grained. So, any scratches can be buffed out by “following the grain” with a special scotch brite pad. Similarly, when using Barkeepers Friend which has an abrasive compound in it, we always follow the grain.
Of course it will be a different approach with the Cybertruck.
Unfortunately no, at least not in our club. Nobody complains about the maintenance of stainless steel, let alone enough to coat the car in a product.Do you know off the top of your head if any Delorean owners have tried Protectaclear (link)

I once brought in a cleaning service that used furniture polish to clean the hardwood floor. It was like a skating rink, took a week of scrubbing to clean it upWhen I would clean a large area of tile floor by hand with Windex, I found the area to still be a little “slippery” when walking around in socks.
Of all the problems with my DeLorean, “stainless steel maintenance” doesn’t even make the top ten hahahaNobody complains about the maintenance of stainless steel
I wonder about using a cloth wet with white vinegar instead. Mild acidic cleaner and should stop mold.Agreed. I wash the cloths after one use. That information is for a reader who thinks you can seal a damp cloth in a ziplock bag and forget about it.
I’m sure a diluted solution containing white vinegar would help reduce mold until the vinegar breaks down, but I haven’t personally seen the need for any cleaner for just dust and fingerprints. I just wash the microfiber cloths after use.I wonder about using a cloth wet with white vinegar instead. Mild acidic cleaner and should stop mold.
@DMC-81, does Sprayway Glass Cleaner leave a film? I thought that's one of their claims to fame? Thanks!OP: Just a piece of advice: You should follow the instructions on the BKF package:
Soft Cleanser
How to use BKF Soft Cleanser
- Shake well before using.
- Squeeze BKF onto wet surface or damp sponge.
- Rub onto soiled surface.
- Rinse thoroughly within one minute of application.
- Wipe surface dry.
A Word of Caution about BKF
Because our Soft Cleanser is acidic and contains polishing compounds, BKF may etch or dull delicate surfaces. Before applying to fiberglass, plastics, anodized aluminum or brushed metal surfaces, such as appliance exteriors, test in a small, hidden area first.

I wouldn’t use Windex to wash the acidic BKF away. I know there’s been a YouTuber who doesn’t even own a Cybertruck recommending that, but I wouldn’t do that to my DeLorean. I would want to neutralize the acid in the BKF right away which is what the rinsing ( with water) does. That’s how I use it. I don’t use Windex on the car either, because the Florida DeLorean Club found that with continued use, it leaves a film buildup ( especially in the heat of summer), but to each their own.
I guess we’ll see what an application of an acidic substance followed by a product that contains ammonia does to stainless. Maybe there’s nothing to worry about, but what’s the long term impact?

Also, the black/ brown stain on the cloth is metal oxidation that the BKF removed.
Actually that’s what we use for household glass and mirrors as my wife discovered that it is the best glass cleaner that doesn’t leave a film behind.@DMC-81, does Sprayway Glass Cleaner leave a film? I thought that's one of their claims to fame? Thanks!
I saw that, it looks similar to some household sprays that use mineral oil. Maybe not so good for a outside product.I see the company has a stainless steel cleaner:

I’d be tempted to try that, but honestly, I’ve found that just a clean, damp microfiber cloth works best.
