I don’t think I like the idea of having to compound the car every month. The PPF wraps are looking like a better option everyday.

I think this combo did a Great job unifying all the panels together... now how do you seal it?!?

Barkeepers Friend, Invisible Glass and Hydrosilex Marine...it'll last for a year or so of regular washes.

This thing is meant to be wrapped, or preferably, PPFd. The bare stainless is going to look like trash in a few months if you don't take care of it. I predict a ton of bad condition Cybertrucks running around with people who just leave finger prints and bird turds on them.

That's another thing, bird droppings are going to etch the surface and leave permanent marks.

Ok so to my maintenance list I need to add keeping birds away :)
Really hope this STEEL truck can take going through a car wash, I don't need it to look like a showroom truck but if dropping $100k would like it to not look unprofessional at job sites. Doesn't have to be fancy but shouldn't be distractingly dirly/ugly.

I wonder if Tesla has a CT body that was a cast off or wrecked that they left sitting out in a field, would love to see how one looks after sitting outside for 6mo or a year.

No, it isn't meant to be wrapped. That definitely was not Tesla's design goal.

And a wrap will look like crap in a few months if you don't take care of it. Let me park your wrap outside under some of the trees around here. Let me take your wrap to Florida in early May, during the midst of Love Bug season.

If you don't take care of anything, it will look like crap after time.

Its not in any way a coincidence that tesla started offering wraps in house just as the truck was coming to market. Offload the cost of coating to the customer. Make a lot of extra money from them as well.

I think Bar Keepers friend might be good to do once a year but a regular wash works great on the Stainless steel. We had to go back over it with some detail spray in a few areas but it really wasn’t hard to wash. Ceramic coating isn’t a problem either as long as you polish it first and get the impurities out first. Thats what’s making it turn orange / brown.

Vinyl wraps, sure, but PPF can be left outside no problem. Here in California we don't have the bug season to worry about but when bugs hit PPF on my other cars they wipe right up no problem and no marks

Uh, in my book it was indeed a coincidence.

I think that they still only have 3 Service Centers that can wrap and they are in CA. Tesla is just listening to the large number of customers who are wanting wrapping.

If they believe that the CyberTruck needed wrapping, don' t you think that they would be ramping up their ability to wrap a little more? And ESPECIALLY on the Foundation Series vehicles which are "fully equipped" that they would at least wrap them?

They did too much work on their version of stainless steel to expect it to be wrapped.

For those that aren't familiar with Love Bugs. The Florida season is about 6 weeks of this.

They can often feel like pea size hail hitting the vehicle when driving through a swarm.
