Tri/ Quad Motor will easily start at 100k or more
I don't think so, I believe the quadmotor will and will include the 4ws. The tri motor should be around 80k without 4ws.

The tri-motor was announced at $69k, it should remain within a reasonable distance of that number.

The mythical quad-motor could be the "plaid" version of the Cybertruck, where the sky's the limit.
Those prices were unfeasible in 2019, while inflation alone has drive the value of $70k in 2019 to just under $85k today. Best case scenario, $85k for Tri.

Those prices were based on the assumption battery prices would come down by now.

After IRA manufacturing incentives they’ve come down even more than they planned. $69k is more likely by a large margin than $85k. Though I suspect anything under $80k is possible to ensure buyers can nab the incentive bucks.

Your price is almost $10k higher than inflation and over a 20% increase from the target price.

Which Tesla launch missed its price by that much?

And as Ogre pointed out, that price also forgoes the federal incentives.

If even GM is going to target those incentives - and their battery factories are behind Tesla's - why would Tesla follow their price?

*sigh*

We know the top spec will be expensive, it started at seventy thousand at reveal. But if GM can stay under to get the incentives, Tesla will as well.

Tri-motor $72,420, FSD at reveal price $7,000 for a total of $79,420. Or less I hope. I’d like FSD and the tax credit.

FSD doesn't count against the new tax credit, since it's a pre-purchased software. It says so on Tesla's current order pages.

Thanks for that info.

I still don’t want it to be over $80k for both.

I checked my Tesla account and there is now a place to configure my truck when the time comes.
I'm around 400,000 down the list so I figure some time in 2025. I hope.
I went through this whole thread and everyone seems to be missing Vertical Integration as part of the equation. A ton of parts for the CT will be made at Giga Austin and as production ramps the cost of production will decrease. Once the battery factory is on line the batteries will move across the road to the production line instead of crossing the country.
Tesla is spitting out cars at an incredible rate in Texas, Berlin and China.
Elon said "the best part is no part and the best process is no process.
The CT will built as cheaply as possible while retaining quality and safety.
My WAG is the bottom line trucks will start at around 60K.
Just like OEM pickups you have the fancy trucks with all the bells and whistles and they are priced accordingly. I have seen Ford Raptors over 100K with dealer add ons.
When I bought the 2022 RAM 3500 "Diesel Pig" I bought the "Tradesman". It's a bare bones truck used for the farm and hauling hay and livestock trailers.
I financed 63,000 bucks after a 10K down payment.
My limit is 80k but that would have to be loaded up with the fancy stuff and FCD.
This is the last vehicle I will ever buy and I'm going to go balls to the wall.
The IRA 7500 tax credit will switch to a dealer discount which will help me since I don't need a tax credit.
The big "IF" is will the CT qualify for the credit. Google says yes if the cost is 80k or less.
Theoretically Tesla could sell the CT for a little over cost in the beginning and maybe meet the price for the IRA credit.
Would they? DAMIFINO. But they could'.
Would I as a shareholder like it? No.......but I would take it.
With almost two million pre-orders a small margin is still a butt load of money.
When CT hits the streets it's going to be Katy Bar the Door for sales.
My guess is they will be filling back orders for several years before there is ever any sitting around waiting to be sold.
Time marches on slowly for those of us waiting for out CTs.

I bet there will be a lot of disappointed people when the Cybertruck pricing and options are released.

Cybertruck engineer estimates are 200 kWh needed to go 500 miles.
That is 145.8 kWh to go 100 miles @ 60 MPH over a very modest 1% grade pulling a small trailer (below video).
