It appears that the roof glass just might fit perfectly over the cargo compartment. Would an “open air CT” be of any appeal to the consumers? Off-roaders? Weekend warriors?

In day-dreaming about my future CT, has anyone else noticed the thick “roof bezels” on the latest Aplha proto? Maybe it’s angle and glare? I liked the clean roofline look of the 2019 reveal CT.

*Please excuse me if I’m late to the party and this is a come and gone observation!

The prototype never had to pass crash tests. I’m sure there have been many adjustments to the frame layout as the designing continued.

So I measured a couple images and it is feasible that the tonneau cover could fit by sliding directly under the roof (hands in your pockets kids i'm opening the cover), which would simplify a midgate option. They could have just needed more metal up there to support the "unibody"

I'm having a hard time seeing this being feasible let alone practical as the pillars taper in towards the roof from the beltline:

I'm positive that at a minimum the core features that were shown at reveal night will be present (albeit more refined) on the production CT.

For what it’s worth, the second image in your post is not an actual photograph, it is a digital render. They put together a series of these renders to illustrate the truck in the wild. These rendered images aren’t 100% consistent with the early prototype truck or any real version of the truck.

You're right. The width at the peak probably wouldn't allow it.

I also noticed the four thin headlights (to make the CT federally compliant) were squeezed in between the front valance and bumper on the newest prototype.

My guess is they are the headlights and the thin LED strip at the top of the valance will serve as daytime LED running lights
