Exactly! If this was a head to head drag race with a competitors pickup, then the naysayers would have a valid criticism. As it stands, it's just puffery marketing to say that a Cybertruck towing a Porche 911 can beat a Porsche 911. It's meant to be funny and illustrate how powerful the Cybertruck is. I think it succeeded in doing that. The people who are butt-hurt are taking it way too seriously. As if it even matters. The fact that Cyberbeast can compete neck to neck with 911 is more than enough for me. We can sit and split hairs on 1-2 seconds all day long. At this close competition, it’s less about performance and more about weight/traction. Probably Tesla tested with better tires and less weight in second row? Whatever it is, there is no point proving a marketing ad wrong. I have seen ads for healthy drinks, and I have at least 10 research papers and anecdotal experiences backing up they are not. Marketing is all about perspective and not facts! Numbers don’t lie. People do! Move on.
This was all explained in the videos. It was not the first rodeo of these professionals at Motortrend, etc. They took it all into account and if any differences they gave the edge to the CT. The driver of the Porsche was *very* experienced in doing drag races.Didn't they test a different 911 configuration? Or was it the same base model?.
There is no excuse for lying about what Elon said, no matter how he's misspoken or how much an asshole he's been lately. There is no excuse for the lack of Tesla/Elon's honesty and integrity here.
