Tesla always has a upgrade wheel option, I'm guessing these ones are just the standard wheels.

The hubcap no longer extends into the tire. We've seen a majority of these hubcaps ill-fitted to the tires, likely because the lug location wasn't considered when putting on the tire. I bet it's an absolute pain in the ass to line the tires up to match the hubcaps. It's probably an extra cost to mold those indentations into the tires, and limits what aftermarket tires you can use with the hubcaps. I suspect this is the direction they'll go with the hubcaps for production.

And yes, they are hideous. I never liked hubcaps anyway though.

AS tires look fine, will definitely need to see the test numbers to decide if the AT tires are worth the range hit.

Definitely gonna be storing the aero caps in the garage after watching that last out of spec video where it was like a 1.4% difference

This post is about tires. If you want to talk about the charging port location you should create a new thread.

We likely are going to have limited options depending on the tire speed (letter) requirements.

Discount tire options/filters: https://www.discounttire.com/fitmentresult/tires/size/285-65-20

Tirerack tire options/filters: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?width=285/&ratio=65&diameter=20

The tires we've seen in the recent photos of trailered CTs have an H speed rating (130 mph). A quick look at Tire Rack and Discount Tires failed to find any LT285/65R20 tires rated any better than S (112 mph). I suspect there will be a very small selection of available tires with that rating - maybe only one: the OEM tires. We will have to pay dearly for them until the tire companies see enough market to build some competing tires that match the OEM specs.
Those are good observations. I forgot about the speed issue and tires. I pay a fair amount for my TMX tires to get the V+ ratings.

It seems Tesla would have to have a speed governor to limit the speed to 112 for more tire options to get past regulations. I can't imagine them limiting any Tesla to 112 tho.

Why can't Tesla move the charging port to front?
Because it's easier, safer, with better visibility to pull out of a charging stall instead of backing out of one, especially with parking lots having many pedestrians or traffic flow. It's also easier and safer to back into a charging stall with mostly stationary surroundings, instead of backing out into traffic.

You're going to have to either back in, or back out regardless of port location, but either way it's not going to save any steps or attention required. Only other way is to make stalls all be 'pull-through' but that would require much more restrictive layouts with stalls only being in the center of a given area, and that's not practical at all for scaling.

Tesla is looking at what makes the overall process easier and safer long term, instead of appeasing first impulses which focus only on a small part of the process. Efficient, intelligent long-term thinking is what makes Tesla's business model solid as well.

…. I do have a reservation and I am 11k in line.

The change in proportions are less than flattering in my opinion.
A number of us who have places in line greater than 11,000 agree that the current Cybertruck design is too unflattering to buy. They and all the rest of that group strongly urge you to cancel your reservation immediately.

Not a fan of the smaller wheel look, or those awful hubcabs, but probably a base/ range friendly option that will be offered.

cvalue13 was NB4 me….

But, anyway…..
These tires are neither new nor smaller.

There aerocovers might be new. They’re too ugly for me to look close enough to tell.
