Oops. “Wouldn’t”
In terms of vehicles I'd say it is. It is nearly a whole size class different in length. 12-15" is typically the difference in sizes between mid-size, full, and heavy duty trucks. ~11 more than a R1T is just a tad under that (R1T is a rather large midsize that are typically 211-215).

Thank you for the visuals. They were helpful. I just did 5300 miles in our TMX and **really** LOVE the "Big Sky" windshield and think I'm going to be disappointed with the TMCt's windshield by comparison. ala how they implemented the upper ~12" and visors.

We did various tourist stops on the way back the the views when driving were outstanding. (Glacier Natl Park, Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls ID [The Niagara Of The West]; Tetons; Yellowstone; Beartooth highway; Custer State Park, Badlands, etc).

The Cybertruck renders from 2019 had the Model X style visors, I guess they judged they weren't adequate for a truck. What's your experience with them?

a) It is interesting as the dark tint that is placed where a normal roof line starts works amazingly well. There was many times in the past several days road trip traveling West to East when the visors were not even needed and the sun didn't feel hot. I may use the visor if the sun is below that tint.

b) Many don't realize that the visor rotating arm tension is strong enough that you can place it anywhere along the blue arrows below to block the sun. The visor also flips open to make it wider. BTW, there is a sub-flap under the first that triggers the "make-up" mirror+lighting.
Overall, they work great and I haven't had any issues with them. They work well for my spouse who is 5'2"-ish as well.

My F350 or my current Rat Rod truck never fit in my garage. I have friend who has intertube on wall to know when she is in the garage enough to close door. Toyota tundra.

The funny thing is I just realised the Cybertruck bed isn’t long enough to carry tatamis (for aikido practise) without them sticking out the back. Whereas the much shorter ID.Buzz was fine for that (after dropping seats) — and that’s the shorter European version! That realisation made me wince a bit. That’s the benefit of being able to expand the space by dropping seats.
They should fit, unless you have weirdly long tatami? Aren't they 6'?

Unfortunately they sized the bed for play and not for work. 6’ is pretty useless to trades people who work with pipe or lumber. Unless you make a cyber rack, 10’ of pipe is not staying in the bed unless there was a pass through or something like that.
So you're saying that most ICE trucks are useless for the trades?

This is why I was hoping for a midgate. Being able to switch from a short bed with extra seats to a long bed without would be great.

But how did we get from Musk saying it's a bed greater than six feet to everyone assuming it's a bed smaller than six feet?

Extremely disappointing news from Tesla. Zero insight from Tesla on specs, pricing, range. Still technically in 'tooling' and testing phase. What a letdown.

At least they were generous enough to let us know how long the Cybertruck won't be.
earnings call...... understand?

Remember the 6 feet is only for the very bottom of the bed. Tesla kind of cheats by quoting that figure as the back wall is slanted and follows the seat back. Now that is better than it being uniformly shorter (which it would be if it was the usual flat back), but it does mean you need to be careful when comparing the figure to other trucks.

You may be right though that you can possibly get a couple tatamis in before they start sticking out the back.

I was stoked to hear about the 6’ bed length. I assume it’s at least 4’ wide so carrying home lumber, plywood or drywall won’t be an issue.

My work vans, Sprinter and Nissan NV along with w4500 all had swing out removable pipe carriers for piping beyond the typical 10’ lengths that would fit inside. The exterior swing out rack would carry up to our typical 21’ lengths of steel gas pipe or 20’ lengths of plastic.
An 8’ bed can still carry 10’ lengths with the gate down and not require anything special as the hangover would be next to nothing. Same with letting it sit on the top of the tailgate on an angle. Move it down to 6’ and there’s just way too much overhang. Then you have the cover that would also have to stay open. My traverse can hold a 10’ section of pipe and still close the liftgate

As you already know, most of the trucks out here are not used for work. They drive around pretty empty. Not much different than the SUV’s that have never seen snow or mud.

Ford blew it with their electric van when they decided to give it a battery with approx 120 mile range with no payload. Not sure who’s using that as a work truck since once you outfit it with tools and material and shelving, you’ll have to plug it in at the job site.

Shame they didn't keep them this way then, by far the more elegant solution.
