I simply don't want to believe you ?. Tesla gave the possibility to make a reservation from Europe for over 3 years, so I think he has to deliver, he can. I'm around 85.000 in the Tri Motor, that should put me in mid 25. Here's the video:

By the way Y deliveries began in March 2020 in the USA, Europe August 2021. Why should it be different this time ?That would put the CT for Europe around April 2025, right on time for my number. And if people in the US continue to cancel their order....Please let me dream.
Model Y was universally close on specification standards. Cybertruck is over size, and weight, and employs many new technologies, such as steer by wire, which may require additional regulatory approval. I cant imagine Tesla bending over backwards to deliver CT to countries, where it dies not comply, when it has half a decade of back log at home, with minimal transportation issues. It’s a guess, but it seems reasonable. Maybe thats why Europe and China got highland first. We cant get all the nice things.

I hear ya @CyberGus. Montana has per capita second behind Wyoming on truck ownership. Both of us(states) have been left watching the rodeo.

I want my truck for sure, but I’m not dropping any non-refundable money before seeing what I’m getting or before seeing what is supposed to be a binding agreement.

This is an interesting development, I wonder if folks have been having second thoughts and cancelling their recent order? Not sure why else they would increase the deposit to secure the order.
Every EV manufacturer does it. Fisker does it. Rivian does it. Chevy does it with Blazer EV.

There are more people living in the circled part of Orange County (CA) than the entire populations of Montana and Wyoming combined! Forget the whole rest of California (Los Angles, San Francisco, San Diego, etc). This is just one half of a suburban county (mostly single family home subdivisions) that is serviced by two Tesla Service Centers (Irvine and Buena Park). So I get why it's easier for Tesla to do the early rollout in places like this where they can reach their customers easily. For reference the diameter of this circle is about 25 miles

Tesla Cybertruck Reservation holders must now pay nonrefundable $1,000 "Early Access Deposit" to convert reservation into an Order (new as of 12/12/23) 1702514968848

Kudos to you. Enjoy the mall crawl.

I mean come on. That crowd your circled is pavement. Great. Keep it to the SC's in CA.

No wonder the people that use them end up in situations.

In all fairness mine will primarily be used for Costco runs and carting the kids to school. But I'm only a 20 mile drive away from this (Trabuco Canyon) where I do plan to take it for some fun off-roading:

BREAKING:

Starting today, Cybertruck reservation holders will have to pay a $1,000 early access deposit to convert existing reservations into orders (once Tesla invites you to configure and order your Cybertruck).

It will be credited to your final purchase price upon delivery.

How do I go about paying for this Early Access Deposit? I can't find how or where, could you please elaborate how those of us willing to pay for this can go about it?......I ordered my 3 motor cybertruck during the unveiling. My reservation number is "RN112749075". My friend ordered his 2 motor cybertruck 3 days after the unveiling, his reservation number is RN112800341. Which means he's 51,266 reservations down the line from me. He received notification yesterday (12/12) to configure his "Foundation Series" -Which I understand only 1,000 of them are being made. We both live in San Diego California. I'm super stoked for him that his reservation got pushed up from what should have been end of year next year, to now getting his, probably this month (December 2023). It seems Tesla is not following their own reservation order, which seems unfair to those of us who were further up in line. And of course, there is no phone number or email address you can reach where something like this could be addressed. -very disappointed.

I don’t get this ‘rich person’ statement people keep making. By any guess I will have been saving for my next vehicle for 7 years before I get it, maybe longer, and I got another year of savings selling my last car. Ten thousand dollars a year is only a little more than I was paying on my last car loan. What I hear people saying is that they didn’t do any saving and only a rich person could write a $100K check. Yes, I agree with that last part but at least for me that isn’t the way it will be; I will transfer the funds from one place (most likely the Tesla stock I bought) to another. Definitely ’not’ rich!
No offense here at all, but that's privilege. Over half of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. 42% have less than $1000 in a savings account and the national average is $4500. If you can afford this truck, you are rich. I've been saving since the announcement and I could make the $80k version work for me, but I'd be stretching. I wouldn't say I'm rich either, but compared to most Americans and people around the world? It's obvious I am richer than most of them. With the exception of the few older folks here who are YOLO'ing (I hate that phrase) everyone buying this truck is rich. There's no question about that

The average new-car price in the US is about 5x of the worldwide annual household income. If you own a car, most of the world considers you “rich”.

The State of California encompasses about 100 million acres of land. About 75 million of those acres are classified as wildlands. For non-residents contemplating a move here I'd like to say, stay where you are, you wouldn't like it. :)

OK, I accept that, but my point was that I had a car loan on an SUV, and had car loans on SUVs before that for 4 cars, and whether it was hard (or not) to make payments I continued to buy SUVs and pay the loans off. It was just that when I stopped paying for those cars I started saving. Had I been living pay check to pay check then, at least I had a car payment extra. I do not consider myself rich but I do consider myself middle class. I doubt that anyone not at least in the middle class could afford a Tesla before the IRA.

So what do all of you consider the threshold/cutoff for being considered rich in the United States? How many of the 2 million that reserved a Cybertruck were ever in a position to buy one?
