EDIT TO CLARIFY: TFL says this photo appears to have a label saying 2kW

but on further consideration, that’s no sensible. As would be “12kW”

What makes more sense is a label near the plug that says “120v” (and at bottom likely “120/220c”)

It's interesting that the two 120V outlets are 20A.
I haven't seen a straight cord for a NEMA 14-50 outlet yet. Every one I've seen is a right angle plug. How will that work with this configuration?

The Ram will have (hopefully MUCH) higher speed DCFC CCS charging, so it could perhaps add ~100miles in a half hour...
"max charging speed of 145kW"

TBH that is pretty good. I only occasionally get better than that in my 2017 TMX and that was after various OTAs and on v3 Superchargers. If there were pull thru or empty chargers then a 15 minute break or 30+ minute lunch could be worth it ... but only if convenient vs the 3 times longer gas range and quick fill ups.

Hey there were several empyt stalls so no harassing :) -- This is my kids TMY.

It looks like they took that into account and that there is only 1/4" lip there.
Another post thought they should have recessed the whole thing but that would have been your issue/point.

EDIT TO ADD:

Have bolted up a compare (in heat map) of interior dimensions:

As suspected (by some) for a while, interior dimensions come in nearest to a Chevy Avalanche, but with width at hips (determining seat width) being comparable to a Toyota Tacoma - which explains the lack of 6th seat, but also portends a rather narrow rear seat that is "5 passengers" in name along the lines of a Tacoma (though CT's better shoulder width will help a touch).

EDIT TO ADD A 2ND TIME: ADDED MODEL Y AS TESLA CONSUMER REFERENCE

CT Interior Dimensions Heat Map From Leak.jpg

Next is a heat map that essentially demonstrates the design thesis of the Cybertruck:

  • *nearly* full-sized BEV truck cargo area,
  • *nearly* mid-sized footprint/agility (but an ~F150 wheelbase, mitigated by 4WS)
  • somewhat *better* than mid-sized interior volume, at least in terms of rear seat legroom, but basically mid-sized seat width

EDIT TO ADD A 2ND TIME: ADDED THE HEAT MAP OF EXTERIOR DIMENSIONS (note Rivian height is a bit slippery to get nailed down, but height I view as really a nearly irrelevant stat for adaptive vehicles)

Revised CT Exterior Dimensions From Leak.jpg
This was interesting information. Thank you.
Listing the Maverick, though it's really not the same class as CT or F150, was useful. The Raptor would be a closer fit to the class. At least the Mav is a hybrid (but not a PHEV). I hope to see a BEV, or, at least, a PHEV Mav or similar size in other automakers soon. I'm thinking I won't exercise my CT reservations and go for a hybrid Mav instead just because of size.

I'm not underestimating at all, just questioning the need(if there is a need) to have to go to a charging station and a gas station every trip I take while towing. Side note, apparently the RamRev will also have a higher towing capacity: https://www.ramtrucks.com/revolutio...*16ek56i*_gcl_au*MTY1ODU3OTgwMy4xNjk5NTA0NTMy. I also hope that the Cybertruck will have vehicle to grid and vehicle to vehicle charging. Apparently both of these Ram trucks will.
Guessing that you'd use gas on long trips, adding charging at night or during meals if available (restaurant, campsite, hotel, home.) But you wouldn't need to stop to charge, as the engine should be able to keep the battery charged.

Maybe we need a new thread: Cybertruck vs. Ramcharger. Would like to see a heat map with the preliminary specs for both included.

Just added a reservation for the Ramcharger, along with a long standing one for a Cybertruck. We have two Teslas, and it's great to have no ICE in the garage. At the same time, I'm shopping for a back-up generator, just in case. Ramcharger provides an EV truck and a big backup generator, one we can quickly take with us in a major emergency. Decision will be based on total package cost, specs, and availability.

the Maverick and Ram 1500 w/ 6’3” beds were listed as essentially just reference points of what, on one hand, a roomy mid-sized truck (Mav has the ~largest interior of the small trucks) with the smallest footprint, vs and on the other hand, a 1/2 ton “super cab” full-sized with a 6’+ bed comes in at for external dimensions.

put a little differently, the “Agility” chart shows:

• if you value small footprint/exteriors above all else, you want something like the Maverick - and you pay dearly in cargo

• if you want max interior room above all else, you want a full-sized super cab.

• that all makes normal since, but from there two BEVs brake the traditional code:

• the Lightning offers all the cab room, but more cargo area, than even a Ram with 6’3” bed, and at a smaller external footprint.

• the Cybertruck, offers most of the cab room compared to Lightning, nearly as much cargo as Lightning, and at a much smaller footprint than Lightning or esp the Ram 6’3”

and meanwhile, the Rivian instead in terms of interior room and cargo is sort of worst of both worlds from footprint and cargo relative to Lightning/CT. It doesn’t quite brake the code, in terms of eking our cargo and interior room from the lack of engine. But the Rivian has made those compromises not merely on bad packaging design, but also a focus on different capabilities - brakeover, speed, power, etc. And it’s price point, relative to interior/cargo size, goes to show that it’s a sort of niche vehicle in this respect.

Owners of Toyota "Buzz-forks" BZ4X BEV where wheels fall off, poor range, and slow charging would disagree with claims of Toyota having superior experience & quality.

TESTED: 2023 Toyota bZ4X Falls Short of EPA Range
Estimate Late to the party, brought fruitcake
By Jonathan Elfalanby Director, Vehicle Testing
June 14th, 2022
https://www.edmunds.com/car-news/tested-2023-toyota-bz4x-returns-underwhelming-real-world-range.html

The single-motor 2023 Toyota bZ4X Limited FWD covered 227 miles in Edmunds' real-world EV range test, missing its EPA-estimated range by 15 miles.

The bZ4X also consumed slightly more electricity than estimated.

The bZ4x charges at a 6.6-kilowatt rate, while many competitors support faster charging up to 11 kW.

Huh? What do you mean?
oh

the comment is a sort of internet meme format

the content meaning, basically, “hold on to your hard, the fanbois will be quickly working to undermine this data in virtue of alleged alterior motives, etc”

Ah got it. ?
for the record, I love Tesla. I’ve had one for five years , ❤ it and buying two more including the cybertruck in the next few months.

but the Toyota poor quality narrative here is ridiculous. Kind of like that Tesla not good with electric vehicles narrative

I've owned Toyota cars and found them reliable. I interpreted the BZ4X comments as that specific car was junk, not that all Toyotas were.

But I don't know what the BZ4X comment author was thinking. ?‍♂

Thanks - I selected the Lariat ER as what I view to be the relevant trim comparison to the CT, just in terms of tech, interior, range, etc. Obviously a subjective position, and one could see it differently.

That said, the stats you provided make me question if I have the right Lariat ER in my other chart (awaiting more CT info). Admittedly, keeping track of the different stats of ~6 different vehicles, across model years and changes, is a bit discombobulating. (But I did take the 8,550 GVWR off my Lariat ER)

do you have corrections here I should look into? were you looking at 2023 stats, or?
