I wonder if that could be mitigated by giving them a rubber membrane. They wouldn't look airless but they would be stillAll of the airless tires examples I've seen are dirt/mud/rock collection magnets. Anything but pristine paved environments would cause them to collect junk on their interior workings which would cause tremendous out-of-balance issues when driving until they were thoroughly cleaned out again.
