All of the airless tires examples I've seen are dirt/mud/rock collection magnets. Anything but pristine paved environments would cause them to collect junk on their interior workings which would cause tremendous out-of-balance issues when driving until they were thoroughly cleaned out again.
I wonder if that could be mitigated by giving them a rubber membrane. They wouldn't look airless but they would be still

Some have sidewalls, some are open. Almost all of them have been tested in the real world. I still hope we get them.
Interesting. I've only seen the open design. I guess I'll have to read up again. Any indication on what the price might be per tire? Re-treadable?

I took the time to copy and paste the rims and tires from my photo of a Subaru, onto the Cybertruck. I would like rims like this, they're somewhat aero but off road looking too.

I don’t know about retreads. But here’s a quick search for sidewalls…

I also go back and forth on the CT looks but at the end of the day if it is as good a product as we think it will be it will become less unusual as they start showing up everywhere.

I personally think the design elements on the new Tundra is grotesque. So forced and overdone

wonder if these aren't production aeros, but instead makeshift for hiding something about a new wheelset (maybe the new wheelset seen on the RC in texas before Q2 call)

edit to add: the video shows these covers are unevenly attached (wobble when wheels turning)

im leaning heavy towards makeshift cover of a wheelset. unclear though why they wouldnt just use the normal aeros - unless the normal aeros arent set up to attach to the new wheelset yet
These are clearly just temporary covers.

Those sheet metal covers are probably there to protect sensors used to confirm the onboard sensors are accurate or to gather additional information... or maybe to hide the new electric brembo calipers! The future is looking brighter as the cybertruck will be leaving the antiquated tech in the dust!
No dealer mark ups
48V electrical arch
4 wheel steering
HW4
bullet resistant panels
areodynamics beyond any other truck
Suspension adjustability with superior protection
Tesla free updates
Several anchor points for aftermarket attachments
1000V operating arch
17" screen no extra options required
Tesla quickness and Tesla efficiency
Looking forward to smiling at all the existing trucks who try to harrass my model 3 by tailgating or trying to race LOL good luck
Funny how the cost to compete with the speed of a Tesla with a big truck costs a magnitude more!
Lets put $5.00 in each vehicle and race....440Klm for model 3 and 10-20 Klm for the ice truck!
Cybertruck...$5 ,,,,160Klm?
Future ...better with free software updates.
I see a future where the truck lets you allow it to travel at maximum efficiency when not in a hurry or based on the fastest way to get to your destination safely if selected.
Wow can't wait to cruise in that unit!
