I say deformation on impact is a good thing for passenger safety.It would take a pretty massive blow by a pretty massive hard object to cause enough structural damage to the stressed skin for me to worry the truck's safety was compromised.
Or are you expecting people to come along and smash your CT with a sledgehammer?
