All new cars have plastic film on parts of them. This is to keep them from being scratched by garbage flying off the road. The front seems to be the most important part to cover, so Tesla did. The weird thing is how messy the sealing is, especially on very flat surfaces.
you're not talking about what I'm talking about

i understand what the cling-wrap bras are

but in the video above there aren't cling-wrap bras, there is only tape sealing or securing the hood

and, even in the photos from other videos of units that *do* have cling wrap bras, they SEPARATELY from the bras also have tape being used to seal or secure the hood

These are still early RC's, you can see 647 marked on the A-pillar. No point in getting worked up about panel gaps just yet.
Wasn't the gap I was referring to. Not even close to be flush/aligned. They are making several dozens of these so you'd expect them to have made adjustments after the first 10.

IKR… I thought for sure he was going to swing the camera back and peak into the back seat… With all this hype, I’m afraid I’ll be let down when we finally do get to see it. Only thing back there could be the rear console right? Or flat folding seats?? Damn, just show it already!!!

This just confirms that production has started :)

They are still putting out Model Y's that look like this so I don't see why you would expect a change.
Actually, I've seen a lot of great reports about the TMYs. The front and rear giga-castings seem to make everything more precise.

That is part of what the the term 'panel gap' refers to. They just got started, the whole point of RC's is to get the line dialed in. If the last RC's being delivered to employees have the same gaps then we have a problem.

I just love the ability of the steel to give it a new look in every environment. You will never get tired of it.

I've had stainless kitchen appliances for 15 years. I think people will get pretty tired of finger prints. These things will get PPF'd more than painted tesla's for that reason alone.

I think they are still making test vehicles destined for destruction. I doubt any of these will be sold to employees - they aren't at that point yet. soon I think.

Our 2023 Model Y (44 miles on it now while sitting at the wrap shop) is a lot tighter with panel gaps than the 2020 was. In fact, it may be the best put together car I've ever owned and I've owned a lot of cars and trucks. I think those castings really tighten up the tolerances for the fitment of all other prts. I'm sure the Cybertrucks that are for actual sale will be great as well. I don't get why Tesla would put together some like these with these bad gaps and allow them to be seen unless they are just manually putting some of them together for some kind of crash testing.

none of these are destined for either employees or showrooms

the Xwitter impression farmers like to lean in to hopium

unsupported hopium or unsupported FUD are the stuff impression-based $$ is made of

sad to see it
