Hard to ascertain but it's possible they wanted to have both types of glass in the prototype for the test to see the difference in how they would perform, and also how sections of the Cybertruck structure itself might perform without augmented strength from stronger glass.does any of that change if it’s only the front passenger windows?
‘cause again, the rollover unit clearly had normal tempered glass everywhere else (rear windows, corner windows, etc.)
I’ll be interested to hear the stated rationale for that choice
Time will tell whether they might've purposely had different types of glass, and what will ultimately be used in production. I'm sure most of us are hoping for strongest glass all around.
I'd be worried if they weren't using strong glass at all in prototypes, but at least in the rollover test they were intending to see how it performs. So to me that's encouraging but time will tell. Is the glass half full or empty?
