I don't get the whole destroy things for entertainment approach. I hate waste.
Except I doubt this was done for entertainment. It was either done to make $money$ on YouTube, and/or to protect legacy truck/gas oil interests. Probably both. There is billions of dollars of potentially lost profits on the line depending upon how long it takes for Cybertruck adoption to reach substantial levels. In the short-term the biggest risk is to legacy auto because a 20% decline in sales/prices would devastate their profits due to declining efficiencies of scale.

Most of the anti-Elon, anti-Tesla hate you see today has been carefully curated and stoked by monied interests, some of it likely your own tax money that has been transferred to shady non-government agencies (NGOs). Some of the money is almost certainly private donations from the likes of George Soros and Bill Gates.

I don’t even watch this idiots posts. His voice is overly annoying and monotone. Don’t waste your time.
But we SHOULD watch and then COMMENT on it as well!

I've also decided that any stuff about nazi's and such I am going to flag the posts... It's getting ridiculous out there with people trying to brainwash everyone to HATE.

I agree, this experiment is kind of dumb other than to prove the truce can handle 10X the rated tongue rate. this has nothing to do with horizontal force aka tow weight. What am I missing here?

Not quite as cut and dry.

It’s precisely as simple as that because the question that I posed is “full weight” not increases. if you change the parameters of the question the answer must change as well.

Lemmie get this straight:

If I load the hitch to the maximum rated limit of 1,100 pounds, and then put another 6,800-pound Cybertruck on top of it, it still won't break?

Wow

"Where the Cyber truck broke, the Dodge is not not breaking"

Homeboy, this is how you had to get the Dodge to the test bench:

Okay, sure, the Dodge didn't have the hitch snap off at 10k lbs. But was it damaged? Is the frame now bent?

At least a Cybertruck with a snapped hitch will still drive straight lol

I added things that happen in the real world and not static while sitting in your driveway :p

I've experienced some of this pulling a trailer and had problems with a bike rack on it. The undulating road caused me some issues.

UNDULATING ROADS? How funny!!

But a trailer that is within weight specs being pulled by a vehicle that's within specs won't have an issue with 'bouncing'...

Think about it... You're trailer weight is 11,000 lbs... but with that size trailer, you're likely to have FOUR tires on the trailer instead of just two... So, weight is then 'balanced' on 4 tires, load on the TIRES would be about 2700 lbs each tire... weight on the HITCH, if PROPERLY balanced is going to be in the neighborhood of about 100 lbs and if it's badly balanced, could be up to 500 lbs... even then, it would take 20 times that amount before breaking? Pretty good I think...

The above 'graphic' is just conjecture... "tounge weight CAN increase" (but doesn't say how much even)... CAN cause... CAN increase... CAN cause... Doesn't say DOES...

I think this COULD cause people to think somethings wrong when it's not... It's even POSSIBLE that people MIGHT believe it's not good enough when compared to a truck that's 20 years older (RAM) and has no engine, transmission, etc. and MAY HAVE HAD a bent hitch already (because it was a 'salvage' vehicle)...

So, it MAY have been an unfair test...

But hey, at least the CT was able to drive up onto the trailer... The Ram? Nope... Couldn't even drive it OFF the trailer...

Oh, and the CT was a 'salvage' vehicle as well... All the ones he's working with are...

But he MAY be trying to 'influence' you into not buying one...

One of our memories is bad. The CT was not able to drive on the trail as I recall because it had many error msgs. The RAM was salvaged and didn't have a motor so, of course, it couldn't drive off or on the trailer :) . The CT was not salvaged AFAIK. He bought it for his business as well as social media and used it for their wheelchair business.

Just like the Ford is WD's absurd destruction test. He commented that "it's fine".

The camera cut when they started driving it, and it was violently shaking.

Youtube estimates that videos make anywhere from $2 - $25 per view, so as of this post, the video has already made Zack $2K - $25K. That is before the money he is receiving from RIDGE and the referral bonuses he gets for the link to Rivian's site in the description.

I don't think that we need to construct a conspiracy theory about him being backed by any big player, he'll already make enough to pay for repairs to the truck and/or buy another.

Cyberhate draws the clicks and views. I wonder if posting a "I drove my cybertruck off a cliff to virtue signal" video would net enough to pay off my loan and buy another cybertruck with cash.

*does the math* . . .

I think we’re mixing apples and oranges. I think he’s talking about the first test with whistling diesel And you’re talking about this one. Also, it’s the Dodge that was salvaged or whatever in this test not the cyber truck you’re correct.

The funny thing about Jerry’s video is he keeps moving the goal post first it was I don’t think it’ll even get to 5000 and they’re gonna have a big problem, then when it gets past that he’s like talking to the other guy, “I didn’t think it would get that far that’s better than we thought - pretty good,” then when it got well passed that into 10,000, now it was a catastrophic failure again and the sky is falling! ?
