GVWR is not the vehicle dry weight. It includes max cargo, including passengers.
Just as you said.. the GVWR includes both the vehicle weight and the cargo/passengers. So if the Dual motor weighs 5k lbs and a 3500 lbs cargo capacity its GVWR is 8500lbs (class G), but the Tri motor weighs 5900 lbs and a 3500lbs cargo capacity then it is a class H with a GVWR of 9400lbs. That was my point.

I think the dropping is related to other Tesla Models. A portion of the tax credit will reduce on January 1, 2024, depending on the sourcing of the battery materials. The cheaper Model 3 cars with LFP batteries from China could be affected, for example. But since I thought the Cybertruck batteries will be US made with US-sourced materials, if that's true, then we shouldn't see any reduction for the CyberTruck tax credit. But the source of the batteries and materials is definitely the sticking point...

Tesla needs to use the CyberTruck to release subscription based FSD per user. That way I can buy this damn thing and get the tax benefit and still get FSD on the side after the initial purchase.
Software is not "physically attached option" to the vehicle so FSD is NOT a factor in pricing for tax credit purposes.

I was hoping for this too. In the army, some of the track vehicles you could make the tracks go in opposite directions( I forget the name of this mode) to do a 360. I was thinking that would be an awesome trick for the cybertruck.

If 5900 lbs is correct, this makes the CT about 300 lbs heavier than the Plaid X, which sounds very reasonable for the size increase.

Hummer EV and Rivian have/had 'tank mode'. Rivian decided against it because it would be abused and tear up the land you are on ... or wreck the drivetrain if on a surface that doesn't 'slip' (cement or the like non-slip surface).

I was kidding. It’s been an undertone for a long time there is no quad motor.

Holy Moly!! That's almost 3k lbs more than my 07 Hummer H2! Talk about alot of energy just to move the truck alone! Wow.

Whatever form they want to do it. As long as I can buy the vehicle with the tax break. Cause I’m fortunate enough to have a decently early preorder number.
They have subscription now. And you can buy fsd after purchase.

Now the question is. Will it be reserve price if bought after purchase? Probs not

Its related to the percentage of battery material mined or produced in the US or countries we have trade agreements with. Not on number of units sold. Every year the rules get more and more strict. If the manufacturers don't increase the percentage that meets the guidelines, then the credit goes down.

I was just guessing to make a point. I have no specific knowledge of actual weights.

It’s much more likely that the Cybertruck maximum payload is around 2000 lbs, especially with air suspension, 3500 is extremely unlikely and doesn’t add up with the estimated GVWR and the realistic weight of the truck.
