I will be very disappointed when you stop cross-posting
Sorry. The 1st two are the same and I thought this second one was more relevant than the Silverado EV thread. Since I haven't been as around as long as some of you I sometimes find older relevant threads that I missed.

I'll stop posting for a while.

Post all you like, it's a semi-free country. I was just found it odd that you were so determined to make this particular point.

Now I really am disappointed šŸ˜

I bet there will be a lot of disappointed people when the Cybertruck pricing and options are released.

Cybertruck engineer estimates are 200 kWh needed to go 500 miles.
That is 145.8 kWh to go 100 miles @ 60 MPH over a very modest 1% grade pulling a small trailer (below video).
This is roughly what most people think. Somewhere between 185 and 215 kWh depending on your assumptions.

Not sure what this has to do with being disappointed about pricing.

The cost to produce 4680s is much lower than the cost to buy 2170s, trebly so when you account for IRA manufacturing incentives.

It's a bare bones truck used for the farm and hauling hay and livestock trailers.
but what kind of fence you running?

The IRA 7500 tax credit will switch to a dealer discount which will help me since I don't need a tax credit.
To be the bearer of bad news, but itā€™s not a dealer ā€œdiscountā€ itā€™s still at tax credit, just at point of sale. if you donā€™t have enough tax liability come April, youā€™ll owe the unearned credit back

in any event, this is a good video. Iā€™ve liked Engineering Explained a long time but didnā€™t know he had this particular video/content

Iā€™ve had a dozen back-and-forth (and forth) here on the point of this video, but maybe now I just post this video along with 4,000 words

Time to crank up the old tax dodge again.

Your profile says your location is America yet you are surprised by B.S. ? How often do you buy anything in this country and you pay the same amount you saw first?

We don't need 4ws, it's a gimmick that will rarely or never be used.
Like hell. Every single time I park, I'll love it! I friggin hate the turning radius on my F-150 and am looking forward to 4WS more than any other 'special' thing about the Cybertruck. So, maybe we don't NEED it, but I'll definitely use the hell out of it.

Same here. I've even done a breakdown of towing a 7,000 lb trailer here in the forum for those who care to see he math.

I can buy this argument if they buried it in fine print, but itā€™s literally in the same sentence.

I agree, it is quite a bit different. Fortunately when I get my truck it will come right off the bottom line.

How will Tesla price the CT when the Chevy Silverado RST will go for $106,895?

The same way they priced it when the Silverado EV RSPVJD didnā€™t exist.

Cybertruck was created to displace ICE trucks, not overpriced electric trucks. There are 2m trucks sold per year right now. Itā€™s a big fat target. The handful of electric trucks sold by Ford, Rivian, and soon GM is irrelevant to the big picture. Tesla wants to carve into that 2m number, not the 5,000 GM is selling.

I know. What was GM thinking when they cam up with a $106k price. Sure hope Tesla does not follow suit. Hoping my dual motor order is in the $60k range.
