Where does the load originate from on the fender? Is there any mass hanging off it? The only point there is torsion on the frame is when one wheel or two diagonally opposite wheels are lifted or compressed in comparison to the others. The load (L) only exists between the the wheel suspension parts (S), like two columns on a bridge, like the below diagram:
(PS Ignore the dots .... I had to use them to get the formatting positions right)

....(L)...
|-----|
S.......S

But the fender (F) is outside of the load path like this:

.........(L)..........
F--|-----|--F
.....S........S.....

For there to be any structural advantage of having the fender carrying some load there must also be a load attached to it that it can then carry, so that would be like this:

(L).....(L).....(L)
F--|-----|--F
.....S........S.......

For diagonally opposite loads the suspension would look like this for the front:

.........(L)
|-----|
.........S
S

And this for the rear:

L
|-----|
S
.........S

And that is what creates a longitudinal torsional load on the cabin frame that twists it. For the fender to help with this it would have to attached between the load and the suspension parts like this:

......(L).....
|-F---F-|
S...........S

Which is not physically the case with the CT, because the fenders are on the outside of the suspension mounts, like every other car.

Really sucks trying to get the spacing right using html...
I'm going to do some better load diagrams some day, but ATM I'm trying to get everything ready to leave for the states next week for 2 months. We could catch up if you wanted too, will be in Texas beginning of June for a few weeks. Hopefully we catch another Starship launch...but probably not if it's EM time. :)

It is hypothetical, I agree, so is your assertion of the pictures frame being structurally sound.

teslas patent for how the exo skeleton works describes the load transference from internal bracing to external skin.

I will also try to find time (and more important want, to make a diagram).

Texas is a big place, but sure!

Remember, June here is hot. Like, melty hot.

Doesn't connect to the shoes and no load transference.

surveys says: no exo!

Sweet that should be fun!

Distance is no factor for us Aussie outbackers!

There is no better place for UV than Australia with our ozone hole and all, and we get weeks over 100F here, so I think we should be right. What I don't like that much is humidity, but for that they have air con in Texas right? ?

We're staying in a apartment in San Antonio for the first week to cruise around and look for properties etc and around Austin as well, and GigaTexas of course. I'm sure we can figure something out.

Fellas, ladies, I'm detecting a distinct lack of aerospace application.

Figure 1 (2...):

Aircraft landing gear must be attached to the fuselage using large, trussed (giga)cast, machined or framed members, yes?

HOWEVER see Figure 2:
Tesla Cybertruck No Exoskeleton TpWYH

Aircraft also use the skin as a structural member in the fuselage (body), more so in a monocoque design, but even semimonocoque too.

The "landing gear", colloquially know as wheels/ suspension for the CT will still have members and castings to attach it all to the body but that does not derail the idea that it also will have a stressed skin and a form of exoskeleton.

Do I think it will be all stressed skin and no substructure? No, CT is not a soda can. But in press "exoskeleton" sounds a lot cooler and is more digestible than "semimonocoque", so don't get your coque in a knot.

But in short, yes. Exoskeleton!

Also Cybertruck is now not just a boat but also a plane.

Any questions?

yes exactly, though I think at bottom the “disagreement” going on here is whether whether and how those members are attached to the stressed skin in a manner similar to an aircraft. In an aircraft those members are adhered to the skin to a degree to make the unit. In a, eg, Model Y, they are merely “hung” upon the member.

@JBee keeps insisting he knows they are attached in a way dissimilar from how members are attached in an aircraft, and instead like a model Y. Similar assumptions and assertions as Cory Steuben at Monro and Associates (who do aircraft engineeeting)

Others (me) hypothesize that if instead the members are attached to the stressed skin in a manner similar to aircraft, Tesla has a colorable means of correctly describing the CT to have an exoskeleton - unlike @JBee I dont claim to know it, instead just trying trying to understand how Tesla may be thinking
